Treatment Methods

As a clinician trained in a variety of evidence-based methods, I have learned that there is a lot of promise and hope in treating my clients.  I have witnessed so many success stories and I am always amazed at the resilience people develop through their lived experiences.  I have heard about a variety of different struggles over the years and I, myself, have had my own challenges and difficulties at times in my personal life where I had to practice the very same exercises that I encourage my clients to try.
There are a variety of different theories and techniques and I am here to help you find a personalized approach to helping you reduce unpleasant symptoms and to live a fulfilling, happy, and healthy balanced life.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT):

This is a goal-oriented treatment aimed at helping you  increase your self-awareness to change unhelpful thinking patterns and unhealthy behaviour to improve your mood.
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT):
This approach combines CBT and mindfulness to help individuals learn to regulate their emotions, learn distress tolerance, and improve problem solving and interpersonal communication skills.
Narrative Therapy:
This method helps individuals understand the difference between person and problem. As you learn to externalize problems, you will feel more empowered to create more space for new stories in your life and gain personal agency to address future problems.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy:
The main elements of this type of therapy are aimed at increasing self- awareness to work through unpleasant feelings as opposed to avoiding them. The idea is to focus on what a person values in their life and to create goals that are consistent to these values.
Psychedelic Integration Therapy
With the re-emergence of the psychedelic renaissance, more and more people are seeking out the healing benefits and spiritual experiences of psychedelic medicine. Some of the common substances being used are N, N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT), ayahuasca, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), 3,4-methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA), psilocybin (magic mushrooms), ketamine, ibogaine, and peyote.

I do not provide this medicine or encourage the use of these substances, but will promote the participation for approved clinical trials for the treatment of mental health and substance abuse concerns, and provide harm reduction education and support.

With my ongoing learning and training in this area, I provide a safe and non-judgemental collaborative approach in helping people process, find meaning, and integrate their own wisdom through their psychedelic experiences.
